New versions of SMS Notifier available

I finally made some updates to my SMS Notifier app. The following new features were added:

  • Windows Mobile 6 Standard (aka Smartphone) is now supported
  • A bug introduced by Windows Mobile 6 that calendar appointments were a few hours off should now be fixed
  • Added shortcut to Startup folder to the setup packages, it should now autostart when device is restarted

The new version is now labeled 1.3, and the first item on the list is the most important IMHO. I haven't really had a chance to test the smartphone version yet on a physical device, so I would appreciate if anyone could test it and send reports my way. If there are any problems, I would like to get the issues via the issue tracker feature of Codeplex.

So, here are the direct links to new releases (CAB files that you can run directly on the device):

Enjoy!

Using SMS Notifier and am most pleased only problem I'm encountering is the time of SMS sent in calendar is off exactly 8 hours. Considering I am in Las Vegas which is GMT -8 Pacific US this makes sense where the 8 hour difference comes from. I'm using the latest version 1.3 on Windows Mobile 5.0 and just would like to know if this is an issue being addressed for next release? Thanks for a fine piece of useful software.

Louie,

Have you tried running the 1.2 version? When WM6 devices came out I noticed the calendar timing issue and I think it is fixed in 1.3 for WM6 devices. To my knowledge (at least on my previous WM5 device) the timing was correct. Unless of course you have a WM5 based smartphone...

Psudo,

Just leave it running. Even though there is no direct way in the app itself to hide the config screen, you can do it by clicking the default ok-button on pocket pc or just simply start using other apps.
